Accelerated Diploma Level 3 – Massage, Reflexology or Aromatherapy

Develop a working knowledge of the organisation of the body.

This unit will provide all of the necessary underpinning knowledge of less common pathologies to assist the Candidate in identifying when and how a Client may be contra-indicated to treatment.

A developed knowledge of less common pathologies, together with an understanding of anatomy and physiology will enable the Candidate to know when they might safely and confidently apply all complementary therapy treatments.

Understand how to navigate the relationship between the Practitioner and Client.

This unit covers the broad underpinning knowledge of the principles behind complementary therapies, the main influences on working within the complementary therapy industry and the key aspects of good clinical practice.  

This will provide Candidates with the knowledge and skills to be develop their abilities within the complementary sector.

This unit covers all of the acts related to business in complementary therapies, business laws, marketing, public relations, communication skills and employment opportunities in the complementary therapies sector.  

This will provide Candidates with the foundation knowledge to analysis a business idea and the developing skills and understanding of successful business practice.

This is a preparation for work unit which is based on capability and knowledge.

The unit is about providing body massage, reflexology or aromatherapy for complementary therapies.

To carry out this unit the Candidate will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene procedures throughout their work.

This unit has been written in line with National Occupational Standards and mapped to Core Curriculum as established by the General Council for Massage Therapies.

The contents of the unit cover all of the practical applications and required underpinning knowledge for massage therapy.
